Happy Fathers Day!

Dad, I miss you terribly!  I loved having you so close and to myself.  I love you for always giving of yourself without even being asked.  If you knew I needed you, you were there (and you still are!). You sheltered me from your pain when it was too much for me to bear, yet have always carried the weight of mine.  We have both found a renewed strength and hope in Jesus, that perhaps if our troubles had not broken us so, we may not have seen Him and felt Him carry us through.  


Thank you for letting me see you fail.  And get back up.  Thank you for the unconditional love you have always had for me, when even I could not love myself.  Thank you for showing me how to change a tire, fish, set up a tent (even if it was too big for the living room!).  Thank you for eating my "healthy meals" when all you wanted was fried chicken, for showing me humility and forgiveness.  I can still hear you clapping the loudest at field day and yelling "PULL!"  You always knew I could do it even when others said I could not. Thank you for being a great grandpa to my boys.  

Truly, deeply Dad, I love you. I like you.  I am proud to be your daughter.  Thank you GOD, our Father, for putting us two together.  Happy Fathers Day!
