Gray is talking! Gray is potty training! Gray is climbing!

Talking

In the last few weeks we have really seen Gray blossom in his speech and communication efforts.  He is speaking more clearly, which is allowing not only us, but others, to understand him. It truly is music to my ears to hear his sweet voice say "mornin mama, seep good?"  or "nigh nigh, seep tight, sweet dweams, see you in the mornin!"  While he still is missing some letter sounds, this is huge progress for Gray.

When he was diagnosed earlier this year with a 1 year speech delay, we didn't know how long it would take (or if he would ever) gain that time lost.  But God has been faithful and good!  Today, he now tries to first use his words before screaming in frustration, which was in reverse before.  That is a feat for any 2-year old boy!  Everyday, Anthony and I comment and laugh at his new found words.  He is also speaking in sentences.  "Hi mama, Noah back? Noah go potty?" He has learned to whisper (quite loudly in the movie theater)and has even learned to discipline himself with just a look from mama ... Gray says "No no. No bite Noah's tummy. Me timeout!"  Debra says "Yes Gray - go to timeout."

Potty Training

Gray has started potty training himself. If we are driving in the car, he says "I go poo poo in potty." When we get home, he tries! No results yet. Once the diaper is back on, he does go.  He likes to pee whenever he is naked (see other posts regarding this topic), but we have been able to convince him that the potty is the best place to do that without a diaper. And most of the time he agrees. :)

Climbing

Yesterday, we decided to check out the IKEA store.  Love it!! As did Gray.  I would turn my back not for a second and that little monkey would find his way to the top of bunk beds (without ladders), the top of store shelves, display beds and tables.  Everything climbable!  I was quite exhausted by the time we left.  Good news though ... I got out of the store without spending more than $12.00 on glassware.  Who can shop with a spiderman scaling the walls?
