Let's start with yesterday at basketball camp. Noah was sent home with massive hives covering his body head to toe. We were able to be seen again by the allergist and got some blood work drawn. (Noah did not even flinch!) She also added Claritin and steroids to his list of medicines. So now he is taking Singulair, Claritin, Prednisone, Pepcid AC, and Amoxicillin. I have also been giving him pro-biotics and Vitamin D. Today at basketball camp, Noah had NO hives! Yeah!!! The Claritin did not make him fog-headed, so he was back in the game - shooting multiple baskets in a row! I was so happy and thrilled! When we got home, his little friend came over and they played outside on the big water slide. Again no hives! Normally he would be covered! We rounded out the day with a trip to see Toy Story and then back outside again on the water slide. When he came in, he was covered in hives. Argh!!! They were smaller than usual and less irritating.
As for the coconut oil, we are still using it as a moisturizer. His skin looks healthier (when not covered in hives), but it did not help the hives go away. Nothing really does.
